Steve Blair brings 25 years of experience in animal care, transport and marine biological research to our shark team. As an expert in the handling and management of many fish and invertebrates, he has worked in the US and in several countries with many species of large sharks including great white, bull, sandbar, lemon and many smaller sharks.
His past experience includes fisheries management work with California Fish & Game and National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), and cooperative research on leopard shark feeding. Currently, he is working in conjunction with NMFS and the Aquarium of the Pacific on the feeding ecology and behavior of the Humboldt Squid.
Mr. Blair is sought out by local television and radio stations in Los Angeles for his shark expertise and has appeared on Shark Week, the History Channel and is featured in the film "Island of the Great White Shark".
